Franco Mastantuono, 16, has played in most of River Plate's games this season despite his young age. This has led to several big clubs showing interest in the Argentine U17 international.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are the clubs mainly linked with Mastantuono. Now it seems that Real have gained a head start in the pursuit of the attacking midfielder.

Several Spanish media, including Relevo, state that the reason for that is that Mastantuono spoke with Real Madrid's chief scout Juni Calafat. Obviously, there have been positive conversations.

Mastantuono has a buyout clause of 45 million euros, the equivalent of 525 million kroner, in his current contract that runs until December 2026. That clause increases by another five million euros in the last ten days of the transfer window.
