Swedish international strikers Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres have both been linked with Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. It has been written that “The Gunners” are looking for a new “nine”, central forward, who can be the team's top scorer.

But recently, Kai Havertz has assumed that role and started to score more and more goals. The German has five goals and four assists in the last seven league games for an Arsenal side chasing their first Premier League title since 2004.

It has made Arsenal rethink their search for a new forward, according to The Mirror. The newspaper states that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may instead turn his sights on a younger player who can be given time to mature and develop.

Brighton's Evan Ferguson, 19, fits that profile, but he could be too expensive to land, according to The Mirror.
